Study Sessions

The purpose of the study sessions are to help you prepare for the exam. Do not rely solely on group study sessions.  These sessions are only a supplement  to your home study! 

Some Things You Should Be Doing

Take the time to go to any study groups available to you.

Study at home.

You should have received your  Department issued study manual by the last week of August. Break down the manual into manageable segments. Study no less than two of the eighteen chapters a week  (more if you are already behind). 

Read all department messages

Refresh your math skills (percentages, fractions, averages, etc)

Know the Material Out Book, Telephone Order Book, Lateness & Absence Log, Time book, Snow Operations book and all other department logs and forms.

Read the Snow Manual . Know the dates of the Snow Calendar of Events and become familiar with snow forms.

Be familiar with  radio codes and procedures.

Become familiar with district operations (i.e. seniority & the operations board, cleaning functions, small tool allocations, equipment, etc)
